Board Members Serve on National Committees
NMBEA Members Volunteer Nationally
New Mexico is well represented nationally in the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). Currently, three Board members sit on national committees. Two members, Jim Oschwald and Robert Calvani serve on national committees
Board Chair Robert Calvani serves on NCARB's Practice Analysis Steering Committtee; as chair of the Architect Examination Multiple Choice Committee; as chair of the ARE Multiple Choice Subcommittee; and coordinator for the Practice Analysis Task Force. Mr. Calvani is also an elected member of the Western Council of Architectural Registration Boards for FY 12.
Jim Oschwald served on the Broadly Experienced Architect/Broadly Experienced Foreign Architect committee, which processes applications for that type of certification. In FY 11, Mr. Oschwald served on the Committee on Education for NCARB.
Having several Board members on national committees is unusual for a state the size of New Mexico. It is indicative of the willingness to volunteer and the contribution the NMBEA Board members make on behalf of our state.
