Friends of the NMBEA

Mr. C. Robert Campbell

The New Mexico Board of Examiners for Architects would like to recognize Bob Campbell for his exemplary efforts on behalf of the public, both here in New Mexico as well as nationally.

Mr. Campbell managed to combine a career as a partner in SMPC Architects with one dedicated to public service. He served for nine years on the NM Board of Examiners for Architects, during which time he held the position of Chair twice. In addition to serving on the Board Mr. Campbell was also the Chair and Director of the Western Conference of Architectural Boards.

He then went on to be elected to the position of Treasurer of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and continued up the ladder of NCARB elected officers. In June of 2002 Mr. Campbell will become the President of NCARB.

Although he moved on to become involved in a national organization Mr. Campbell never left behind the Board or the people of New Mexico. He has continued to be a resource for the Board and to represent the needs of the profession nationally and in his home state. The Board wishes him all the very best in his year as President of NCARB.

The purpose of the "Friends of the NMBEA" section is to pay special honor to those individuals who have given freely of their time to help the Board and the architectural community in New Mexico. These are individuals who are not Board members, who have dedicated themselves to improving some aspect of architecture for practicing registrants or those studying to become a member of the profession.
